For a final trip before leaving Nepal at the end of June, I went trekking to Langtang National Park with friends Giuli, Nirjala and Zoe. Starting from Shivapuri National Park just north of Kathmandu, we began the trek at 1600 m. After the first night, Zoe was ill so decided to turn back. The rest of us continued. We stayed the 6 nights in Chisopani (2300 m), Kutumsang (2600 m), Thadepati (3500 m), Phedi (3700 m), Laurebinayak (3500 m) and Dunche (1700 m). Each day was a long hike often gaining 1600 – 3300 feet (500 – 1000 m) in elevation total with ups and downs. Each night was around freezing temperatures, but we had heavy blankets at each guest house. We were exhausted for most of the trip from the long days trekking complemented by diarrhea and low severity altitude sickness including some headache on the last day, and loss of appetite throughout. Here are some photos from the trek!
